Fair Use & Disabled Accounts

Last updated: September 17, 2026

Mume AI gives every person a free tier so they can try it. This page says what that includes, what counts as abusing it, what happens when we find abuse, and how to get a genuine account back.

What the free tier is

  • Welcome credit: $0.50 once, on every new account. Spendable on any model, including Plus-exclusive ones, and valid for 12 months. One welcome grant per person — a returning email address does not get another, and a debt left on a previous account under the same email carries over.
  • Daily allowance:$0.20 a day. It is granted when you come back after the previous day's allowance has expired (24 hours), not accumulated. It is only spendable on the flash shelf — chat models priced at most $0.50 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens; the picker and each model's page show which. It never pays for image, video or audio generation, and it is not granted while any welcome, purchased or plan credit is still unspent. A request can take it a little negative; below −$1 the account is refused until topped up.
  • Everything else — Plus-exclusive models, media generation, API keys — runs on purchased credit (from ₹100, valid 12 months) or a Plus subscription. API keys spend purchased credit only.

What we treat as abuse

  • Creating more than one account per person.
  • Repeated signups to collect welcome credit again — including alias, plus-addressed or disposable email addresses.
  • Automated or scripted signups.
  • Sharing, selling or renting accounts, credit or API keys.
  • Using the free allowance through scripts, bots or third-party tools at volume.
  • Any attempt to circumvent balance checks or pricing.

What happens

  • Accounts found farming free credit are disabled without prior notice. Sign-in then fails with an "account disabled" message.
  • Unspent free allowance and welcome credit is forfeited.
  • A debt left behind follows the person to any new account under the same email address.
  • Purchases are not refunded where abuse is confirmed.
  • We keep the email address, sign-up time, links to prior accounts, IP address and device signals we used to make the call — see the privacy policy.

If your account was disabled

Our checks are not perfect. A family sharing one connection, or a second email address you actually own, can look like a duplicate when it is not. If that is you:

  1. Email hello@mume.ai from the account's own email address.
  2. Say which account it is and what you were using it for. A sentence or two is enough.

Genuine accounts are re-enabled, usually within a few days. There is no fee and no form. If more than one account is involved, tell us which one you want to keep.

How we detect it

Repeat signups raise an alert automatically, negative balances are checked automatically, and we review both by hand every week. That is the whole of it; there is no penalty for ordinary use.
