Word Search
Word Search is the classic hunt for hidden words, made for quick play on a phone or a computer. Every day there is a new themed puzzle, the same for everyone, such as Fruits, Space, Cricket or Monsoon. The words you need are listed under the grid. Find them all as fast as you can, then share your time with friends.
Prefer Hindi? Try the हिंदी edition, where every square holds a whole Hindi syllable.
How to play
- Press on the first letter of a word and drag to its last letter, then let go.
- The yellow highlighter snaps to straight lines, so a slightly shaky finger still works: across, down or diagonally.
- Prefer tapping? Tap the first letter, then tap the last letter.
- A correct word keeps a coloured highlight and is crossed off the list with a happy chime. A wrong line shakes and fades.
- Words can cross each other and share letters, so a letter you have already used may belong to another word too.
Daily puzzle and practice
The daily puzzle is a 10×10 grid with nine or so words that read forwards: left to right, top to bottom, or along a diagonal. It changes at midnight on your own clock, and solving it on consecutive days builds your streak. When you are done, Practice lets you pick any of more than forty themes and a size. Easy is an 8×8 grid where words only run left to right or top to bottom. Medium is 10×10 and adds diagonals. Hard is a 12×12 grid where words may run in any of the eight directions, including backwards.
Hints
Every puzzle comes with two free hints. A hint makes the first letter of one of the words you have not found yet glow for a few seconds, and that word is outlined in the list. After the free ones, you can watch a short ad to see a whole word traced on the grid for a few seconds.
Tips for faster times
Start with the longest words: they are easier to spot and often cross shorter ones. Look for unusual letters such as Q, Z, X, J or K, or for double letters like the two Ps in APPLE. Scan one row at a time instead of jumping around the grid. On Hard, remember that a word can be spelled backwards, so check both ends of any promising run of letters. Your best time, average time and streak are saved only in this browser, and your progress on an unfinished puzzle is kept if you close the page.
