Castle Crash
Castle Crash is a catapult siege game. A goblin garrison has taken over thirty castles across three lands, from the green Meadow Keep to the sandy Desert Fortress and the frozen Ice Citadel. Each castle is built from wood, stone, glass and ice. You have a wooden catapult and a handful of shots. Knock out every goblin before you run out, and the castle is yours.
How to play
- Press anywhere on the play area and drag back, away from the castle. The further you pull, the harder the shot. Let go to fire.
- White dots show where the shot starts out, for the first part of its flight. Where it lands is up to your eye, and the faint trail of your last shot helps you adjust.
- Changed your mind? Drag back to where you started (the circle turns red) and let go to cancel.
- With a keyboard, the arrow keys set the angle and power, Space fires and taps, P pauses and R restarts.
Shots
Each level gives you a short queue of shots, shown at the top of the screen. New kinds join along the way. The stone is a solid all-rounder. The split shot breaks into three when you tap mid-flight, perfect for glass and spread-out huts. The iron ball is heavy enough to crack stone walls. The bomb explodes when you tap, or by itself a moment after it lands. The fire pot bursts into flame on impact, burning wood and melting ice.
Materials
Glass shatters at the lightest touch. Ice is slippery and brittle, and fire melts it fast. Wood breaks under a good hit and burns. Stone shrugs off light shots, so save your iron ball for it. Red powder kegs explode when they break and can bring a whole tower down. Goblins wearing helmets take more hits, and the crowned chiefs take the most.
Scoring and stars
Every broken block and every goblin scores points, and each shot you did not need adds a big bonus when the castle falls. Win to earn one star; smash more and save shots for two or three. The result card tells you exactly what the next star takes, such as finishing with one shot left.
Tips
- Hit tall towers high so they topple onto their neighbours.
- Falling blocks do the work for you: a goblin under a collapsing roof will not get up again.
- Lob shots over front walls when a flat shot would just bounce off.
- Out of shots with one goblin left? You can watch a short ad for one extra stone.
