2048 6×6
The 6×6 board is 2048 at its most relaxed. With thirty-six squares there is so much room that the early game feels almost impossible to lose, and the real question becomes how high you can climb. The goal here is 8192, four times the classic target, and a determined player can push on toward 16384. The rules are the familiar ones: swipe or press an arrow key to slide every tile, and equal tiles that meet merge into one worth both.
A marathon, not a sprint
An 8192 tile takes thousands of moves, so a game on this board can last for days if you dip in and out. Your position is saved after every move, which makes 6×6 a good board to return to on the bus or over lunch. The board rarely feels tight until late, when a handful of big tiles start eating the space.
Strategy for 6×6
- Think in layers. The edge row holds your giants, the next row holds the tiles that will feed them, and the rest of the board is room for building.
- Snake the chain. When the edge row is full, carry the descending sequence back along the second row, so one merge at the end ripples all the way to the corner.
- Tidy up early. Clear stray low tiles while you have space; on a big board they hide in the far corner until it's too late.
- Take breaks. Long games usually end with a tired swipe, not a lack of room.
Your 6×6 record
This board keeps its own save, best score and stats, and the tiles shrink to fit so the numbers stay readable on a phone. Prefer something tighter? Switch to the classic 4×4, the 5×5, or the tiny 3×3.
